Abstract submission

The deadline for abstract submission is extended to 6 September 2024.

Please not that in order to be able to submit abstracts you must first register and pay the relevant participation fee.

Abstracts can only be submitted through the form that will be made available to registered users. If you have already registered, you can login here with your username and password.

  • The abstract can only be submitted by an author registered at the conference who will be the main presenting author (without the requirement to be the first author of the abstract).
  • Each registered author may submit up to two abstracts as the main presenting author but may also participate as a co-author in other abstracts without any limitation.
  • Each submission of a summary should indicate whether it is an oral or poster presentation.
  • Abstracts should be written in Greek and English. In case of submission of an abstract by non-Greek speaking participants, a translation of the abstract into Greek can be provided by members of the organizing committee upon request by email from the main presenter at 18athbs [dot] gr.
  • The text of the abstract cannot be longer than 300 words.
  • The only formatting allowed in the title and the main abstract text are italics, superscript and subscript. Keywords, names and addresses are in plain text only. Please do not use capitalized text (ALL CAPS).
  • The content of the abstract is the responsibility of the main presenting author and the co-authors. Only editorial improvements may be made to abstracts.
  • Any communication needed regarding the submission of an abstract will be made with the main presenting author at the email address provided in the submission form.
  • Abstracts may not include pictures, figures, footnotes or bibliographical references.
  • For each abstract, up to five (5) keywords should be provided.
  • Up to two (2) topics should be indicated to which the subject of the presentation fits.

Special sessions

The deadline for proposing special sessions has been extended to 19 July 2024.

Special sessions may also address specific applied topics associated with Botany (e.g., implementation of policies and directives for the conservation and management of plant diversity, education, plant uses, etc.) and may also comprise sessions of open discussion.

A prerequisite for accepting a special session is that there must be sufficient interest from the participants (e.g., there must be at least four oral presentations per special session).

Colleagues who wish to propose special session topics are invited to send an email to 18athbs [dot] gr (18[at]hbs[dot]gr) with the subject "Special session proposal for the 18th H.B.S. Conference", in which they should propose the topic of the special session, preliminary titles of oral presentations and the authors of the presentations or at least the main presenting authors.

When submitting abstracts, the main presenting authors of the special sessions are requested to indicate the topic of the special session in the corresponding field on the abstract submission form.
