The Board of Directors of the Hellenic Botanical Society was informed with sadness of the loss of its honorary member ARTEMIOS YANNITSAROS, Professor Emeritus of the Department of Biology of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, eminent scientist and researcher of the Greek flora, academic teacher and founding member of the HBS.
In an exceptional meeting on Friday 29 December 2023 and wishing to honour his long-standing scientific contribution and his memory, it unanimously decided to honour his memory:
- The adoption of this resolution
- To express the sincere condolences on behalf of the members of the HBS to his family
- To offer a funeral wreath to the deceased's body
- That the resolution be posted on the HBS website
- That members of the Board attend the funeral service
